We offer skin peels to smooth, freshen, and improve complexions.
Peels range from light "Beauty Flashes" to deeper chemical peels.
Deeper chemical peels target stubborn pigmentation, acne scarring, sun and age damage.
A medical consultation first detects any skin or medical conditions that may affect programme safety. The team will discuss your concerns and needs to tailor your programme to your age, skin type, and damage.
We start with a one- or two-week home treatment course of daily products to prepare your skin before applying peeling agents for a more even and predictable effect.
Your 30-45-minute appointment (average 40-min) starts with the application of the peel solution; you may feel a tingling or burning sensation. Within a few hours, you can expect some redness. In a few days, you may experience some skin peeling, irritation and/or mild swelling. After 5-7 days, your skin will start to look and feel “normal”. Then, you’ll see new skin forming with enhanced texture and tone. It’s essential to stick to your aftercare and remember that it can take multiple treatments for desired outcomes.
The solution chemically exfoliates the outer layers of the skin. This stimulates cell turnover and triggers the skin's natural healing process, leading to the regeneration of healthier, more youthful-looking skin.
How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on your skin type, concerns and goals. In your cosmetic consultation, we will gain a better understanding of your skin and be able to give you an idea of how many sessions you’ll need.
What are aftercare instructions for this treatment?
It’s essential to allow your skin to heal and breathe without any potential irritants so we recommend you wait at least 1-2 weeks before applying makeup, and longer if your skin still feels sensitive or is showing signs of redness.
Additionally, use gentle and mild cleansers and moisturisers and apply an SPF30+ sunscreen to keep your skin clean and hydrated.
What activities should I avoid?
It’s important to avoid overheating in the first 1-2 weeks post-treatment to manage any redness, tingling and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation so limit time in the sun, take cooler showers and baths and take it easy while exercising.
Is it normal to have a breakout after a peel?
As frustrating as it may be, yes! Take comfort in the fact that in a few days, your skin should clear up and look healthier than it was. If you notice that it doesn’t and feel concerned, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Can chemical peels be combined with other treatments?
Yes. To enhance results, we may recommend complementary treatments like microdermabrasion.
