Frequently Asked Questions
How do mono thread treatments work?
Once inserted into the skin, the threads create a supportive network beneath the skin, stimulating collagen production to improve skin elasticity.
The threads also physically lift sagging skin to create a tightening effect.
What treatments are considered complementary?
For a complete rejuvenated result, we recommend combining mono thread treatment with laser skin rejuvenation, chemical peels, microneedling and cosmetic injectable treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.
How soon after will I see results?
Results vary from person to person but many see results within 8-12 weeks post-treatment. Results are long-lasting as while the threads will start to dissolve at 3 months, the collagen stimulation can last up to 12 months, depending on your skin type and condition.
How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on your skin type, concerns and goals. In your cosmetic consultation, we will gain a better understanding of your skin and be able to give you an idea of how many sessions you’ll need.
Typically, if you are having a series of 2-3 treatments, we will space them apart by a few weeks to allow adequate healing and collagen stimulation.
What are aftercare instructions for this treatment?
It’s essential to allow your skin to heal and breathe without any potential irritants so we recommend you avoid applying makeup or using harsh products for the first 24 hours.
Use gentle and mild cleansers and moisturisers and apply an SPF30+ sunscreen to keep your skin clean and hydrated.
To treat mild swelling and discomfort, you can apply a cold compress.
Additionally, avoid dental treatments for the first 2 weeks.
What activities should I avoid?
It’s important to avoid overheating in the first 1-2 days post-treatment to help healing so limit time in the sun, take cooler showers and baths and take it easy while exercising.
