Overview

PRP treatment is used to help repair your skin so it looks younger.
The platelet-rich plasma treatment repairs your skin by using the plasma in your blood. Plasma has a lot of platelets, which are important for clotting our blood and fixing our bodies. Platelets also release "growth factors," which can encourage stem cells to repair and make new healthy tissue in the treated area. Using a centrifuge, you can separate your platelet-rich plasma from your blood. Because your own blood is used, there is no risk of getting a disease or having an allergic reaction. PRP is used in all areas of medicine and is becoming an increasingly popular way to treat hair loss.

What to expect

In your 40 to 60-minute PRP appointment (with exact duration depending on treatment areas), we begin by drawing a small amount of blood, just like a standard blood test. The blood is processed to separate the platelet-rich plasma. This is then applied topically or injected using microneedling techniques. Post-treatment, you may experience mild bruising and redness, which is expected and will subside within a day. It’s essential to stick to your aftercare and remember that it can take multiple treatments for desired outcomes.
