Overview

The vagina and the vulva, which are located on the exterior of the female genitals, can be afflicted with a variety of diseases and disorders. Some of them are unpleasant, while others can be excruciatingly painful or incredibly irritating. The majority of them are amenable to straightforward treatment. If your vaginal and vulval symptoms do not improve, you should make an appointment with your primary care physician for a checkup. Vaginal and vulval symptoms can sometimes be caused by other conditions that are more serious.

What to expect

In a 30-minute initial appointment, we’ll begin with a medical assessment to review your medical history, existing health conditions, medications and symptoms. This assessment is done by Q&A, observation and interpretation of any test results.

It may involve a physical exam and diagnostic tests to confirm the diagnosis.

We will discuss treatment options, develop an individualised treatment plan, arrange for any prescriptions, referrals, screenings and tests and schedule a follow-up appointment.
